proprietor of “Gloucester’s Inn and Tavern,” the meeting place of the Knights; obsequious and greedy
Edgar:
Gloucester’s oldest and favorite son; naïve but intelligent
Edmund:
Gloucester’s illegitimate younger son, bartender at the tavern; jealous, bitter, devious, and charming
Kent:
Lear’s best friend, the most skilled fighter, witty and extremely charismatic
Goneril:
Lear’s oldest daughter, partner of Albany; fierce, ambitious and ruthless
Albany:
the “femme” to Goneril’s “butch,” perceived as weak, but has a strong moral center
Regan:
Lear’s middle daughter, partner of Cornwall; sly, treacherous and self-serving
Cornwall:
the most violent of the Knights, partner of Regan
Cordelia:
Lear’s youngest daughter; sassy and rebellious, dreams of a life outside of the Knights
France:
an officer of the Dover Police Department anti-gang squad, lover of Cordelia
The Fool:
a young Knight, perpetually stoned
Oswald:
an overly ambitious Knight, weak but mercenary
